Relationships are gold so as time
Humans are social beings. We do not and cannot live alone. We should relate with other people. Even monks, priests, nuns and singles maintain relationships. However, not with a lover or partner or spouse, they relate with and live through with their friends, families and communities. Human relationships make people happy and that is why relationships are worth keeping. Relationships are sources of happiness, not just a plain need to belong and survive. Though instinctively done, even animals relate and socialize for the same cause.
Relationships are essential that people struggle to build, rebuild and sustain them at all costs. Having a relationship, like any work or sport, requires effort, commitment, time and sacrifice. Relationships are venues for the exercise of human effort and commitment. Like any exercise, efforts and commitment in building a relationship should be disciplined and consistent. If your love towards your wife were not consistent, then your wife would likely leave you and destroy your marriage. If you lack discipline and focus in being faithful to your wife, then you would unlikely sustain your relationship.
Time is important in relationship. When you spend time on relationship, you exert effort and commitment on relationship. So, spend quality time with your wife. It does not have to be all day and all week time. Spend time when your wife needs to. You can however spend time even if your wife does not need one.
You also have to go through sacrifices. As the saying goes, no pain, no gain. Yes, relationships are not all good things. There are also sad stories, challenges and tragedies. When you make sacrifices during hard times, you will realize that relationship problems could certainly improve your relationship. Problems could also teach you how to manage other problems.
Relationship problems are often extra affairs and poor quality of time. When you do not exert effort, commitment, time and sacrifice, then you would definitely experience such relationship problems.
It is thus important that couples regularly talk to know what needs to improve and stop in their relationship. Exert extra commitment to spend time with your wife and go through the hard times together.
